Character Name/Alias: Steve Harrington
Character age: 19
Canon: Stranger Things
Canon point: Episode 9, The Piggyback (before the 2 day later epilogue, but after Steve, Nancy, and Robin escape from the Upside Down)

History: wiki
Appearance: steve
Personality: At first appearance, Steve might look like your average jock douchebag. In fact, he used to very much be that, thanks to surrounding himself by superficially cruel people like Tommy Hagan and Carol Perkins. In spite of his preoccupation with his looks and his prowess in sports, there is a genuinely good person underneath the many layers of douchebaggery.

His first turning point is after Nancy pulls away from him while trying to track down her friend Barb Holland, who disappeared following the night Nancy went over to Steve's house. At first when he spots Nancy and Jonathan together, he lashes out in anger, letting Tommy and Carol take lead to get his revenge by spreading schoolyard gossip across town with spray paint. He eventually relents, accepting a new status as social pariah. The real point of no return is when he decides to swallow his fear and go back into the Byers house where he knows danger awaits, in order to help protect the girl he realizes he has fallen in love with.

Once separated from these bad influences, Steve shows that his concerns revolve around getting into a good college and gaining validation from his parents. These end up clashing with Nancy, who is still rattled from the guilt of what happened to Barb, and after the two separate, Steve discover that his true strengths lie in being the type of parental figure his own parents had never been for him. He helps Dustin with his quest to find Dart, and keeps the rest of the kids alive, putting his own life at risk time and time again.

Steve's selflessness shows a disregard for his own self preservation time and again, as is apparent with how he offers himself up on a silver platter to the Russians, just so they won't touch Robin. Again in Season 4, he volunteers to dive into Lovers Lake where there is almost certainly a portal to the Upside Down, only so that nobody else has to risk their lives. He spends all his time caring for everyone else and making sure their needs are met without worrying about his own.

His reckless heroics have landed him with several head injuries, and although they have not shown any lasting repercussions yet, there are implications that it might be starting to wear thin on him. He presents himself as not being incredibly smart and needing things explained to him at length.

While he has lost his regal status, Steve does still try to woo every pretty girl he meets, to varying success. Most often, the girls are not impressed by his dead end job and lack of future prospects. But even the ones that don't care seem to be lacking something. What Steve really craves, even if he maybe doesn't realize it yet, is someone who will take care of him just as much as he would take care of them.

Steve really shows his colors with his friendship with Robin. At first, he ends up developing a crush on her and asks her out, only to be turned down when she confides in him that she is only attracted to women. Despite being friends with both Dustin and Robin, he keeps her secret, letting himself be pestered over and over with questions as to why they aren't dating, while also not trying to pressure Robin into considering that maybe she just hasn't met the right guy. He simply accepts it and tries to be her wingman.

What did they do to end up here?:
Harboring a fugitive (technically guilty)
Kidnapping a group of minors (not guilty, he was babysitting them)
Assault and battery (not guilty, he was defending a minor)
Murder (not guilty, Barb was dragged into the Upside Down and killed by the Demogorgon)

Powers / Abilities: He has no special powers or abilities to speak of. He has done several sports that have helped him in fighting creatures from a mirror dimension, including basketball and swimming. He also is pretty damn good with swinging a baseball bat, though it probably helps that this particular one had nails hammered into it.
Inventory: A baseball bat with nails hammered into it, Eddie's battle vest, a can of Farrah Fawcett hairspray
